Launch of the No-Addiction Campaign at Mansoura University

On the 25th of March 2019, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit inaugurated the activities of the campaign entitled "No Addiction"

at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Mansoura in cooperation with the Anti-Addiction Fund during the period from 25 to 28. March 2019. 

The seminar was attended by Dr. Ashraf Sewelam, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Nisreen Salah Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Sahar Dakrouri, Head of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Dr. Mohamed Sayed Mohamed, General Supervisor of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse in Dakahlia Governorate, the student Amr Mokhaimar, President of the Federation of University Students, the student / Bahaa Abu Alainin, Vice President of the University Students Union.


Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset said that the activities of the campaign are of great importance in developing awareness among young people and raising the society. The biggest problem lies in the children who started dealing at an early age, not only with drugs. Referring to the important role of the unit of addiction treatment within the psychological rehabilitation center, which began work for 8 months.

He also pointed out that the university will conduct a drug analysis for students of university cities, drivers and workers on campus and that this campaign will continue and will be the detection of drugs with full confidentiality and has been agreed with the Forensic Department to do so detection.

Dr. Mohamed Attia thanked all efforts exerted for the success of this campaign, noting that the participation of students of the Faculty of Medicine in awareness of the dangers of drugs and the large number of participation in awareness campaigns in addition to awareness within the youth centers and dialogue club and the rehabilitation of more than 30 young men and women The campaign, and more than 700 students in 125 schools to raise awareness of smoking between reality and imagination, and the work of a march witnessed by the Governor of Dakahlia to raise awareness and celebrate the National Day of the province, and slogan campaign is "we are stronger than drugs and live it right.

Dr. Sahar Dakrouri noted the importance of the campaign because it aims at educating young people and creating channels of communication between students in order to achieve the desired goal which is the Awareness about the dangers of drugs and smoking.

She also stressed the existence of doctors specializing in clinical toxins and psychological rehabilitation in dealing with the abusers and the confidentiality of confidentiality privacy patient, and announced the opening of hotline for treatment in a confidential and free of charge 16023
